Why is my pending transaction different from the amount of my purchase?

If you notice that the pending amount for a transaction is higher than expected, it may be due to an automatic authorization hold.

For example, when you pay at a restaurant, the initial pending charge may include the base amount plus a 20% tip. However, the final amount will reflect the correct total once the transaction is posted by the merchant.

Unfortunately, Ferry is unable to control these holds as they are set at the merchant level. In most cases, the amount should be updated to the final purchase amount on your receipt within a few days. If you see your pending transaction remaining for more than a week, we recommend you reach out to the merchant directly to resolve the issue.
