Ferry Onboarding—Wage Payment Elections

When you first began working with your employer, you likely chose how you want to get paid: direct deposit, check, or Ferry. The option you chose is called your ‘wage payment election’ because it is the method you have elected to receive your wage payments from your employer.

If you did not choose to be paid through Ferry, you will not receive or have access to your tips or wages through Ferry. If you would like to receive your pay to your Ferry account or have the option to receive your earned tips and wages before payday through Ferry, you’ll need to ensure the wage payment election on file with your employer is Ferry.

During the Ferry onboarding process, we provide you with the option to have Ferry update your wage payment election with your employer for you. In order to do so, you must give us permission to instruct your employer to update your wage payment election so that 100% of your wages are paid to your Ferry account. This is a one-time change and you may change your wage payment election at any time* after you have opened your Ferry account.

If you prefer to keep your current wage payment election, you may choose not to have us update your wage payment election for you. If you decline and do not update your wage payment election with your employer directly, your tips and wages will not be available through your Ferry account. If you decide to change your wage payment election after completing the Ferry onboarding process, you can do so with your employer. Please contact your employer’s payroll department for more information.

Please know that if you decline to have Ferry update your wage payment election for you during Ferry’s onboarding and do not update it yourself, and decide to enroll in Ferry Express Pay, you will need to authorize Ferry to update your wage payment election at that time. Please see the Ferry Express Pay Program Terms for more information.

You are not required to receive your earned wages or tips through Ferry and can continue to receive them as you do now. For example, if you have a percentage of your wages deposited to your savings account and the rest to your checking account and you want to keep this arrangement, you should not authorize us to update your wage payment election, as doing so will override your current settings and make it so that none of your wages go to your checking or savings account.

Your decision will not affect your employment status and it is not a condition of employment to use the Ferry payroll card. There is no fee to participate in the Ferry payroll card, and if you choose Ferry as your wage payment election, you will receive the full amount* of your wages to your Ferry payroll card on payday. To learn more about the Ferry payroll card, including any associated fees, review the cardholder agreement.

* If you have accessed your wages using Ferry’s Express Pay Program, there may be limitations to how and when you can update your wage payment election and how much you will receive on your payday. Please refer to the Express Pay Program Terms for information.
